 Wave Watchers Retreat's Cottage Details

Kia Ora. Welcome.
We hope your stay is enjoyable and relaxing. This information about the cottage is to assist as you settle in.
Telephone
The cottage telephone number is (03) 731 1427. All local calls (Greymouth exchange) are free. Use a telephone card for toll calls.
Internet Access
Laptops can be used. Attach the blue Ethernet cable (modem is on the desk) to your laptop.
Television
There are 2 remote controls: 1 for the TV and another for SkyTV. Use the TV remote to turn the television on and to turn to Channel 1. Then use the SkyTV remote to change channels and adjust volume. To turn television off, use the TV remote.
Barbeque
The key hanging inside the kitchen door is for the Barbeque. Unlock it and move it to wherever you wish to cook. Please cover the Barbeque when not in use as rust is a problem.
Water
During the summer months there is often a shortage. Please do not waste water.
Pohutakawa Trees
The Pohutakawa Trees at either end of the section may be illuminated at night. One light switch is on the wall inside the kitchen door. The other is behind the drapery in the queen bedroom. Remember to turn lights off as they do get hot.
No Smoking
Thank you for not smoking inside the cottage.
No Pets
Sorry, no pets allowed.
Septic Tank System
The cottage is on a septic tank system. Please do not flush feminine products down the toilets. Put all such items in the bins provided.
Kitchen Table
Please help us protect this lovely rimu wood table by using coasters and placemats. (By the way, wine glasses are in the desk cabinet.)
Heat
A wall heater and its remote control is in the living room With interior doors open, it will warm the entire cottage. Each bed has a lambs wool electric blanket. Each bathroom has a wall heater. Please turn heat off when not in use.
Fire
There is no fire brigade at or near Punakaiki so please be very careful.
*There are two fire extinguishers in the house. Be aware of their location/operation.
*Put out the fireplace fire before going to bed or leaving the cottage.
*Turn off bathroom heaters and fans when not in use.
*Empty clothes drier lint container often.
Emergency
In case of fire/police/medical emergency call 111. ( '1' pause, '1' pause, '1' pause )
Local Contact
Rossi Leber cares for the cottage. If a problem arises she can be reached at (03) 731 1410.
Security Light
A security light is on the driveway side of the cottage. It is operated by a marked switch on the wall inside the kitchen door. Please leave the switch on.
House Key
Please lock all doors and the barbeque, and put the house key back in the lock box when you leave.
Our lovely beach cottage is designed for romance and relaxation. We must warn you, however, that it may lure you back. Enjoy your stay, and safe journeys when you leave.
